The end of October may not be the time of year that springs to mind when booking a trip to the seaside in Wales, but my brother-in-law was taking part in the Barmouth Beach Race so the family headed over for the weekend
When looking for a hotel in Santorini it’s very easy to get overwhelmed – so much choice and so many beautiful properties with whitewashed rooms, turquoise pools and sunset views, it’s hard to know where to start!
Usually opting to book each element of our holidays seperately – flights, hotel, transfers etc – for once we just wanted someone to do it all for us! We booked our trip through Kuoni and they arranged it all. We chose to stay at Sun Rocks in the quiet village of Firostefani, a small adults only Relais & Châteaux hotel with just 17 rooms and suites dotted along the hillside
After booking our vineyard tour of Chateau d’Yquem in Sauternes, rather than argue over who was going to have to drive home later that day (thus having no more to drink – a waste of a trip to the area if you ask me!) we decided an overnight stay was in order
As usual my first priority was to find a restaurant for dinner and after a little search online settled on La Grand’Vigne (more on that in my next post…) which conveniently happened to be located at Les Sources de Caudalie, so where better to book a room for the night?
