We visited Sydney at the beginning of the year (see my previous posts here, here, here & here) and wanted to make sure our last meal of the trip was a good one. Through a friend of a friend we managed to score a same-day reservation.
So we headed off to Ormeggio at sunset and were greeted with a gorgeous view of the sun going down on the harbour, and champagne waiting for us!
On our second to last night in Sydney, we headed over the harbour bridge to Cremorne for dinner at a friends restaurant.
Greeted with champagne & seated at the bar, we let the chef decide our dishes and just sat back and waited to see what arrived – we certainly weren’t disappointed!
Both the bar area & restaurant are really welcoming and relaxed, whilst still having an upmarket feel, and even on a week day night when we visited the place was full which is always a good sign.
So on to the food – in Australia they like a sharing approach to food so all the dishes you see below were shared between us. First up was textures of gazpacho – a wonderfully fresh salad of mixed tomatoes with a goats cheese puree
The old saying ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know’ was very true of our visit to Bommie Restaurant. As we have family that work on Hamilton Island, we were given a little bit of special treatment when dining out…
We started our night off with a round (or two) of cocktails at the outside bar ‘The Bommie Deck’, which is situated at the end of a long, well, deck! (The ‘We Jammin’ cocktail was a firm favourite with us all!) It’s a pretty impressive building, we hired a boat one day and from the water it looks even more amazing!

Our visit to Aqua Dining was on New Year’s Eve 2015 and I can honestly say was the best New Year’s we’ve ever had!
From the outside itlooks very unassuming….
We visited Quay on Christmas Eve 2015 whilst on our honeymoon in Sydney. This was our little Christmas present to each other and was somewhere we had wanted to visit since the day we knew we’d be going to Sydney!
