The roof terrace at Pitcher & Piano in Derby has always been a favourite of ours – as one of very few outdoor areas in the city, it’s the perfect place to meet for lunch or drinks when the weather is good.
Recently though, the terrace area had been looking a little tired which is why we were excited to hear that it was going to be getting a re-vamp!
We were kindly invited to be on the guest list for the re-launch on 15th July – how could we say no!
On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Maz who gave us our drink tokens and passed us each an Aperol spritz – not a bad start to proceedings!
The terrace has really been smartened up and has loads more usable seating areas than the old set up. The addition of the astro turf and more greenery also gives it a ‘secret garden’ feel
The terrace lighting is also something that I love – strings of twinkling bulbs that look beautiful as it gets dark
We were also treated to some live music from Steve McGill which was great and made for a really nice atmosphere. This is something that has become more of a regular thing at P&P Derby, with live music from 9pm every Friday
The roof terrace handily has it’s own bar which means you don’t have to make a trip downstairs every time you want a drink
These guys were doing a great job of looking after everyone!
They also have sort of happy hour, ‘After Work Social’ where they have deals on certain drinks
I was happy to oblige on the 2-for-1 elderflower daquiris!
The re-launch also coincided with Pitcher & Piano’s 30th birthday celebrations and they have a special gin cocktail menu to celebrate
I couldn’t resist trying the birthday cocktail ‘Lemon Rose’ which was divine! I’ll definitely be back to try the rest at some point!
I was a really lovely evening – even the weather eventually played ball! A big thank you to Pitcher & Piano Derby for the invitation – I can’t wait for more summer evenings spent here!
